He was my favorite teacher, for six years of French and one home room year. Smart, funny, and kind----it doesn't get any better than that. I'm so glad for the fun memories. He taught me a lot.

So sorry for your loss. I took Drivers Ed in '72 with Mr. Ouellette. A good man, a patient man and fond memories even when he caught me misbehaving which I did well. I know I terrified him with my attempts at driving. Peace and blessings to your family.

I was lucky enough to travel to Paris with Mr. Ouellette and an amazing group of HS students when I was a senior at Ledyard High School. It truly changed my life and I have been a world traveller ever since. Mr. Ouellette and the opportunity he provided truly changed my life! So Grateful. Sincere blessings to those who lost such an amazing giving man. Susan McIntosh LHS '86

Extending my condolences to the Ouellette Family. Had Monsieur Ouellette for three years of French at LHS, enjoyed his droll sense of humor, and bought way too many Skittles from the Senior Class snack cabinet in his room. Un homme qui va nous manquer...

I have such fond memories of him with his dry sense of humor. Taught across the hall from him for many years and also bought lots of his "senior goodies" when he was the Sr. Class Adviser. My deepest sympathy to his entire family.

November 26, 2014

My thoughts and sincere feelings for your loss goes out to all of you, his family and extended family of friends and former students. I taught at Ledyard High School with Dick from 1972 until he retired and once shared an "office: space with him for three years...it was actually a book closet, and we got to know each other well.

I know, even now he will be missed.

Best wishes,

Jerry Lentz

He was a great man in too many ways to count. I was blessed to become part of his family, and to know him for so many years. We'll miss him greatly, but we know that he will live in our memories in ways that we will discover more and more as days go on. It was a blessing, an honor, and a privilege to be his "favorite son-in-law" as he often said. He was and remains a great father-in-law, and a very lovable man!
