Stella Sarant

Stella Sarant November 6, 1918 - March 26, 2013 Danielson - Stella Sarant, 94, of Danielson and formerly of Wantagh, NY died Tuesday at Matulaitis Nursing Home in Putnam. She was born in Danielson on November 6, 1918, daughter of the late Alex and Christine (Berris) Kesaris. She was the wife of the late Louis G. Sarant; they were married on April 28, 1946 at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Danielson. Mr. Sarant died March 23, 2013. Mrs. Sarant was a 1936 graduate of Killingly High School. During WWII Stella worked at Pratt Whitney Defense Plant and later worked as a school librarian for the Wantagh Union Free School District until her retirement. She was a member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Danielson. Mrs. Sarant was an exceptionally accomplished cook and gardener who loved antiques and reading fine books. She is survived by her children, Christine Sarant Jones of Fort Collins, CO and Charles Sarant and wife Lisa of Danielson; grandchildren, Amelia Rose Janes and husband Steve, Lauren Kathleen McNeill and husband Keven and Charles Louis Sarant Jr. and great grandchildren, Benjamin and Luke McNeill. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews who she loved as her own. She was predeceased by her brothers, George Kesaris, Lefty Kesaris and Tony Kesaris. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 A.M. at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, Danielson. Burial will be in Westfield Cemetery, Danielson.
