Julia Dike Obituary

Julia "Judy" A. Dike, 84, of Lincoln, formerly of Omaha, passed away peacefully March 10, 2010.
She was born to Andrew and Marie (Reicks) Beiermann on July 25, 1925, in Raeville. She spent numerous years employed as a presser for Pendleton Woolen Mills in the old jobber's canyon of Omaha and many dry cleaners in numerous cities in which she resided.
She and her late husband, Marvin, moved throughout their lives, traveling where the railroad took them, North Platte, Council Bluffs, Iowa, Northglenn, Colo., Ogden, Utah, and finally with retirement, back to Omaha and Lincoln.
Judy is survived by her son and daughters-in-law, Jack Dike and Karen Doyle, of Lincoln, Karen K. Dike, of Lincoln, Annette Dike, of Bellevue; grandchildren, Douglas, Steven, James Richard, Jacob, Miranda, Emily, Ian, Andrew, Elizabeth, Erin; great-grandchildren, Devin, Autumn, Lara, Charlie, Carter; sisters and brother-in-laws, Della Martin, Columbus, Patricia (Roy) Robinson, of Hallesville, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin R. Dike; sons, Robert L. Dike, Edward W. Dike, Gerald Breeden; parents, Andrew and Marie Beiermann and her brother and sister-in-law, Sylvester (Wanda) Beiermann.
Memorials are suggested to St. Elizabeth Hospice or donor's choice. Online condolences may be left at lincolnfh.com.
A Rosary service will be at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, March 12, at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home, 6800 S. Fourteenth St., Lincoln. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 13, at St. Peter's Catholic Parish, 4500 Duxhall Dr., with father Michael Christiansen officiating. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, March 12, at Lincoln Funeral Home, with family greeting friends from 6-7:30 p.m. Graveside services will be at Floral Lawns Cemetery at 10 a.m., Monday, March 15.

To all of Aunt Judy's family,
We are so sorry for your loss. I feel so very lucky to have had her in my life. She was an extrordinary woman and I will miss her wisdom, her stories and her laugh. Our thoughts and prayers to you.

My mother was Josie Druery & I was close to Judy. I never got to visit her after she moved to Lincoln but looked forward to getting her Christmas letters. She was a wonderful person & will be missed by all. My Grandmother was Kate Baumgartner, a sister to Judy"s Mother.
