Cecil Rosen Obituary
Cecil Clyde "C.C." Rosen, Jr., 83 of New Market died Wednesday, October 7, 2009 at his home.
Mr. Rosen was born April 15, 1926 in Middlebrook, son of the late Cecil Clyde Rosen, Sr. and Nettie Kate Bailey Rosen.
He was co-owner and operator of C.C. Rosen & Sons, Inc. in New Market and Mt. Crawford. He and his bother were beef cattle farmers on Rudes Hill Farm and ran a successful used machinery business with his father and brother.
He was a graduate of Triplett High School where he played and coached basketball.
He attended Cedar Grove Church of the Brethren in New Market and was past trustee of Cedar Grove Cemetery. He and his wife Maxine, supported the Fresh Air Fund for many years.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Maxine Good Rosen.
He is survived by a daughter, Irene R. Wirz of Chantilly; three sons, Cecil C. Rosen III of Chantilly, James J. Rosen of New Market and Robert "Bob" D. Rosen of Mt. Crawford; a sister, Dorothy Lee Rosen of Mt. Crawford; 12 grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Cedar Grove Church of the Brethren with the Rev. Otis Frye officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Richard Phillips, Eddie Bradfield, Jim Mason, David Rosen, Mike Rosen and Jeff Rosen.
The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Dellinger Funeral Home in Mt. Jackson.
Memorial contributions may be made to Cedar Grove Church of the Brethren Building Fund, 2133 Pinewoods Road, Quicksburg, VA 22847.

I always enjoyed talking to CC. He was a sweet man. My fondest memory is when he would yodel for me on my birthday.
I am so sorry for your loss. Unfortunately we're at that age when our parents pass away. But they have lived very full lives and we should be happy for them. May your memories be sweet and help you through this difficult time

Sorry to hear of your father's passing. To me he was a nice"grandfatherly" figure at Rosen's while I was employed there. He was a "matter of fact" person and I enjoyed knowing him.
