Christopher Dodson Obituary
A funeral service will be conducted on Friday, July 21, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Turner-Robertshaw Funeral Home with Pastors Diann and Bobby Whetzel officiating. Burial will follow in Prospect Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 20, 2017 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Christopher was born in Front Royal on August 26, 1970, the son of Charles William and Bonnie Sue Grim Dodson.
He was an inspector with VDOT after a 15 year career in Law Enforcement.
He enjoyed being with family and friends, and especially enjoyed traveling. He had two favorite sports teams, the North Carolina Tar Heels Men's basketball and the Pittsburgh Steelers.
He was a member of the Front Royal Church of the Brethren.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Dawn Dodson; his daughter, Mia Dodson; his sister, Brandie Millar of Berryville; and his paternal grandmother, Anna Dodson.
Pallbearers will be Tony Knave, Scott Steadman, Jacob Dodson, Chris Combs, Rob Olinger, and Brian Whetzel.
Following the services the family will host a fellowship gathering at the North Warren Fire Station.

My dear friend Chris, you will be greatly missed by everyone, but I'm sure mostly by my wonderful friend, your wife, Dawni, and that beautiful baby girl of yours, Mia. My heart aches for them during this difficult time.
You are one of the funniest people I know and always made me laugh and feel comfortable and loved no matter what was going on in my life. Your smile and laughter lit up the room.
You were a great husband, father, provider and a best friend to everyone around you. Dawn never had a bad word to say about you, ever, and come on now, everyone complains about their spouse at some point right? lol, but really, never, which goes to show how much she loved and respected you, deservingly so.
Get some well deserved rest for a bit, and then live it up in heaven where you will suffer no more. We'll all look after your beautiful girls here on earth as I'm sure you will do from above.
Rooting for the Steelers and Tarheels will have a whole new meaning now, enjoy the courtside seats!

We shared a lot of great, fun times, did a lot of dumb things. I'll always remember the late-nights, the middle-of-the-night drive to Ocean City, pulling sleds behind your truck down 522 S. in the middle of the night after the '96 blizzard, the pool party at your parent's, all the parties at Doug Hickerson's apt., all the basketball played, the arguments over Cowboys vs. Steelers and Lakers vs. Celtics, and all the good times we had when we were roommates on Shen. Ave.
I'll remember how easy-going you were; how you could walk into a room full of strangers and in minutes you'd be talking to everyone like you'd known them for years. I'll remember your booming laugh and quick wit. I'll remember how much you loved, and were devoted to, your family. And even though life eventually pulled us in different directions, above all else I'll remember how loyal and trusted a friend you were.
I'll miss you dearly.
