Gary Helsley Obituary
Gary Wayne Helsley, 74, of Luray passed away August 17, 2025, surrounded by his family. There will be a memorial service on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at 12:00 P.M. at Community Mission Church of the Brethren in Woodstock, Virginia. Pastor Dale Bowers will officiate the service. There will be a meal following the service in the fellowship hall.
Mr. Helsley was born on August 25, 1950, in Woodstock, Virginia. He was the son of the late Rev. Charles Samuel Helsley and Catherine Arlene Mauck Helsley. On May 14, 1998, Gary married his loving wife, Peggy Sue Louderback Helsley. He enjoyed spending time with his family, loved the outdoors, and was a member of Community Mission Church of the Brethren. Gary also had a love for riding motorcycles and cherished his motorcycle "Crow."
He was preceded in death by his brother, Carl Helsley and his sister, Patsy Helsley.
Gary is survived by his wife, Peggy Helsley; brothers, Larry Helsley and Robert Helsley; sisters, Betty Jett and Cathy Arehart; stepdaughter, Sabrina Foltz and fiancé Dwight Wallace; stepson, Christopher Foltz and wife Sherry; daughter, Molly Helsley; granddaughter, Brianna Cook and husband Ryan; grandsons, Joseph Foltz and Dakota Foltz; great-grandchildren, Olivia and Wrenley Cook; and many nieces and nephews.
The family asks that any flowers be delivered to Community Mission Church of the Brethren at 50 Coffmantown Road, Woodstock, Virginia 22664. Please arrange for any deliveries to be close to the service date on September 6, 2025.
