Frank A. Serpico, age 84, passed away on Friday, September 21, 2018. He was born in Chicago, on May 18, 1934, the son of Frank J. and Emma (Ranallo) Serpico. On May 29, 1957, he married the love of his life, Jeanne Burghard.
Frank worked with his father to design and engineer Alexian Brothers Hospital, Villa Scalabrini, and various other buildings in Chicago. He was also a stockbroker for over 30 years and upon retirement enjoyed building doll houses and making 3-D puzzles. Frank was a slot machine connoisseur and loved playing trivia games with his children and grandchildren. He loved his family very much and they will miss him sorely.
He is survived by his loving wife, Jeanne and their children, Deborah Barrett, Linda (Bryon) Cross, Steven (Tina) Serpico; dear grandchildren, Kyle (Meghan), Sara (Garth), Matthew, Ryan, Timothy, Brianna, Jake, Samantha; cherished great-grandchildren, Aiden, Jack, Sadie, Maximus, Charlotte; and sister, Lenore (Earl) Freise.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Philomena.
Visitation will be Monday, September 24, 2018, from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at Colonial Funeral Home, 591 Ridgeview Dr., McHenry and will continue on Tuesday, September 25, 2018 from 11:00am to 11:30am at which time funeral service will begin. Interment will be private.
