Paul Lee Bilyeu

Born: January 21, 1947; in Granite City, IL

Died: October 17, 2018; in Altamonte Springs, FL

Mr. Paul Lee Bilyeu died peacefully in Altamonte Springs, Florida on October 17th, 2018 at the age of 71.

Paul is survived by wife, Jane, of Casselberry, Florida; children, Paul (Whitney) of Houston, Texas, Christopher of Sanford, and Matthew (Kim) of Crystal Lake, Illinois; eight (8) grandchildren; sisters, Mary Ferguson, Linda Fleming; and brother, Alan Ferguson.

He is preceded in death by Logan Baker Bilyeu, Father, of Granite City, Illinois and Geraldine Ferguson, Mother, of Collinsville, Illinois.

Paul was born on January 21st, 1947 in Granite City, Illinois to Geraldine Bilyeu (Swigert) and Logan Bilyeu. He graduated from Collinsville High School in 1965 and spent two years at Southern Illinois University. Paul married his high school sweetheart, (Lynnda) Jane Bilyeu (Coffin), in 1967. The couple welcomed three boys over the ensuing years. Paul and Jane spent their childhoods very active in community service with the Collinsville Jaycees and youth athletics with the Collinsville Raiders and Khoury League baseball.

Professionally, Paul joined Southwestern Bell Telephone in 1967 and spent 30+ years in various field roles in Southern and Northern Illinois. In 1984, he took a transfer to the northwest suburbs of the Chicago metropolitan area where they settled in Crystal Lake.

Paul spent many years coaching youth sports primarily football. He is one of the earliest members of the Collinsville Raider football program and coached hundreds of kids over those years. He was a lifetime member of the Jaycees and past president of the Collinsville Chapter. Paul was elected to the Collinsville School Board in the early 1980's.

A memorial service will be scheduled in the future in the Collinsville area. Details will be announced closer to that time. All will be welcome to attend and celebrate Paul's life.

The family would like to thank everyone for their heartfelt condolences.

I spent an awful lot of time with my brother in the early days of growing up. I remember each of your homes starting with the one on Combs and I have the best memories at every one. You were so many things to me, Paul Bilyeu, I cant even begin to put it into words. Janie and the boysI love you more than you'll ever know.
