DAVID L. WAXTON, SR. GARY, IN
David L. Waxton, Sr., age 79 of Gary, IN passed away Tuesday, March 17, 2009 at Regency Hospital in East Chicago. Survivors include his wife, Willie B. Waxton; two sons: David L (Roddretta) Waxton, Jr. of Merrillville, Derrick Waxton of Bolingbrook, IL; two daughters, Clarissa Waxton of Cypress, TX and Marie Waxton of Bolingbrook, IL; four grandchildren; one sister, Myrtle Moore of Milwaukee, WI; son-in-law, Kenneth Sands of Bolingbrook, IL and a host of nieces , nephews, other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by daughter, Cheryl Sands; parents, Will and Dannie Mae Waxton. Funeral services will be held Monday, March 23, 2009 11:00 a.m. at St. Mark AME Zion Church, 4200 Alder St. East Chicago, IN with Rev. George W.C. Walker officiating. Interment, Oak Hill Cemetery, Gary. Visitation will be Sunday, March 22, 2009, Hinton & Williams Funeral Home, 4859 Alexander Avenue, East Chicago, IN from 4:00-6:00 p.m. Mr. Waxton was retired from GATX.
