Edwin Bernardez Obituary
Edwin "Eddie" A. Bernardez, age 41, of Valparaiso passed away Saturday, January 26, 2013 at Porter Regional Hospital. He was born in Honduras, the son of Agustin and Aura (Martinez) Bernardez. Eddie was a loving husband and father, who enjoyed gardening, history, cooking, and volunteering with the Girls Scouts. He was a loyal fan of the NY Jets and NY Mets. In 2003, Eddie married Rachel Brown who survives, along with their daughter, Madilyn; sisters: Esmeralda (Roberto) Roda of Texas and Tomasa Martinez of Honduras; brothers: Hector Martinez of New York and Oscar (Suyapa) Martinez of Florida; in-laws: Leanna Fandl of Valparaiso, and Greg and Caryn Brown of Beverly Shores; and best friend, Robert Johnston of New York. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers: Carlos and Omar Martinez. Visitation will be Thursday, January 31, 2013 from 3:00-7:00 PM at Moeller Funeral Home, 104 Roosevelt Road, Valparaiso. Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 1, 2013 at 1:30 PM at Moeller Funeral Home with burial to follow at Graceland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to Porter County Animal Shelter or Girl Scouts of Greater Chicago and Northwest Indiana. moellerfuneralhome.com

I Sincerely Offer My Condolence For Edwin A. "Eddie" Bernardez: Times like this cause us sadness. Our love one's death bring us face-to-face with the fact that they are gone too soon. So when a love one has past, no matter who we are it is painful. God not only know but he cares! Jesus said: "Do not two sparrows sell for a coin of small value? Yet not oone of them will fall to the ground without your Father knowledge....You are worth more than many sparrow."-Matthew 10:29,31. He knows your sorrow and pain. Since emotions test our very fiber be strong and know that know that others share your grief. "Happy are those who mourn, since they will be comforted. (Matthew 5:4) May you find comfort and relief during this sad period. Yet, celebrate the unforgettable memories you shared will Edwin.
