James P. Koufos Munster James P. Koufos, age 75 of Munster, passed away Monday, March 7, 2005. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Barbara; daughter, Maria (Niall) McShane; sons: Peter (fiance' Karla) Koufos, Dr. Michael (Amy) Koufos and Steve (Holly) Koufos; grandchildren: Anne, Mallory and Kara McShane, Sophie, Emily, Olivia and Sammi Koufos; brothers: George (MaryAnn) Koufos and Tony Koufos. Preceded in death by his father, Peter Koufos; mother, Artemis Koufos and stepmother, Katina Koufos. Funeral services will be held Friday, March 11, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. from the St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, Hammond.Interment Elmwood Cemetery, Hammond, IN. Visitation will be Thursday from 3:00-8:00 p.m. at the Burns-Kish Funeral Home, 8415 Calumet Ave., Munster with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m. Mr. Koufos was a member of St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, AHEPA, past president of Calumet Board of Realtors, Multiple Listing Service, Northern Indiana Apartment Council and Schererville Rotary Club; former vice-president of Northwest Indiana Home Builders Association; served on the U.S.S. Cotten DD669 during the Korean War. Mr. Koufos was the owner and proprietor of Koufos and Koufos Developers, Schererville, IN. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to AHEPA in his memory would be appreciated.
