John Fata Lansing, IL John Fata age 82, born in Chicago July 8, 1923 passed away peacefully at home April 29, 2006 in Lansing, IL. He is survived by son, John Jr. (Donna) Fata of St. Joseph, MI; daughter, Judy (James) Friesema of Lansing, IL; daughter, Janice Fata of Lansing, IL; son, Jeff (Janet) Fata of Lansing, IL; nine grandchildren: Jenny (Joe) Van Dyke, Jackie (Doug) Aske, Jason Friesema, Jeff (fiance Hilary Romeli) Friesema, Jimmy Friesema, Jill Friesema, Jillian Fata, Jamie Fata and Joey Fata. Preceded by wife, June in 1991 and son, Jim in 1975. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 3, 2006 at 8:30 AM from Schroeder-Lauer Funeral Home, 3227 Ridge Rd., Lansing to St. Ann Catholic Church, 3010 Ridge Rd., Lansing for Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 AM. Interment Assumption Cemetery Glenwood, IL. Friends amy visit with the family of Tuesday form 2:00 PM to 9:0 PM. Mr. Fata was a veteran of WWII, he retired after 35 years of service as a general foreman for J.M. Foster Co., a member of Local #41 Laborers Union of Hammond, IN. Active with the Lansing Food Pantry and Meals on Wheels. Member of St. Ann Mens Club, St. Ann School Tutor Volunteer, St. Ann School Market Day Volunteer, St. Ann Minister of Care, and Eucharistic Minister presiding at Eucharistic services. Volunteered for the St. Vincent DePaul Society, and was the recipient of the St. Vincent DePaul Ozanam Award in 2002. Dad felt his life was blessed in so many ways. He loved spending time with the family, friends, Church and volunteering. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Ann Church Building Fund would be appreciated.
