When I saw him several years ago, I introduced myself and told him that while quite happy for his success as a basketball coach, I remembered when he was the freshman coach and taught me how to swim at Wicker Park. He was happy to hear that!

My thoughts are with you.

I was saddened by John's passing. I worked with John in the School City of East Chicago and my fondest memories were when we worked the night recreation supervision. John would always have a batch of envelopes and enter his contests....so much so that he had me entering contests. John at one time was my Health and Safety Director and he was truly a special man...a good heart and a great coach. He will be missed for sure! My sincerest condolences to his family and friends.
