JOSEPH R. MARKOVICH HIGHLAND, IN
Joseph R. Markovich, age 89, of Highland passed away Tuesday, February 16, 2010. He is survived by his wife, Genevieve Markovich; children: John "Rocky" (Melody) Stiak, Susan (Karl) Foote and Nancy (Paul) Maggio; grandchildren: Justin (Shelly) Foote, Audrey (Mark) Patrick, Jennifer (Spencer) Brooks, Brian Stiak, Stephanie Maggio and Nicholas Maggio; great grandchildren: Megan, Lauren and Ryan Foote, Benjamin Brooks, and Regan Patrick; sister, Vera Haralovich; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his siblings: George, Steve, John, Theresa and William. Funeral services will be held at Fagen-Miller Funeral Home, 2828 Highway Ave., Highland, IN at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 20, 2010. Funeral Mass to follow at Our Lady of Grace Church at 10:30 a.m. with Reverend Edward Moszur officiating. Burial Chapel Lawn Cemetery in Schererville. Friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Friday from 3:00-7:00 p.m. Joseph was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in WWII, a member of the American Legion Post 369 and VFW Post 802. He worked for Inland Steel for 41 years and was a member of the 25 Year Club. He loved fishing, hunting and going to see his grandchildren at their sporting events. Donations may be made in his name to the Alzheimer's Association or to Our Lady of Grace Church. www.fagenmiller.com
