June Corman Obituary

JUNE CORMAN (NEE SWANSON) WHITING, IN June "Aunt June" Corman (nee Swanson), age 89, of Whiting, passed away Saturday, December 5, 2009. She joins her husband, Edwin "Corky"; her son, Eddie; and her brothers and sisters: Mabel, Walter, Clara, Bernice, Helen, Benny, Arthur, Raymond and George. June was blessed with four great-great nieces and nephews: Drew, Jake, Alivia and Alexis of Whiting June was born June 13, 1920 to Arvid and Jennie Swanson. She resided in both Whiting and Chicago and was a former owner of Corman Plumbing. June was a member of the Hammond Church of Christ where she enjoyed singing. She knew how to play the organ, speak Swedish, and loved to go dancing, bake cookies and play cards. June is survived by her local nieces and nephews: Iris (Ernie) Mazurkiewicz of Westville, Sarah McHugh of Chicago, Randy Swanson of Chicago, Marty (Teresa) Jakubowski of Whiting, Eric (Nicole) Jakubowski of Whiting and Evan Mazurkiewicz of Westville, brother-in-law George Corman; special friend and sister-in-law, Dolores Swanson of Chicago; and many more nieces and nephews. June loved children and animals and set a beautiful example of gentleness and patience to all she encountered. She will be greatly missed by her family as well as her many friends. Friends and family are invited to a Memorial Service to be held in her honor Monday, December 14, 2009 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the OWENS-RUZICH FUNERAL HOME, 816 - 119TH St. (corner of Rt. 41 and Calumet Ave. at 119th St.) Whiting. Interment private. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made in her memory to La Rabida Children's Hospital, Attn: Development Office, East 65th Street at Lake Michigan, Chicago, IL 60649.
