Kristine Gadbois Obituary

KRISTINE R. GADBOIS (NEE TENKELY) SCHERERVILLE, IN Kristine R. Gadbois (nee Tenkely), age 66, of Schererville was welcomed into God's arms on Saturday, May 10, 2014 surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by her devoted husband of 41 years, Jeffrey Gadbois; treasured daughters: Crystal Gadbois and Connie (Adam) Martisek; precious grandchildren: Joshua Gadbois, Cole Martisek and Kensley Kristine Martisek; and cherished sister, Jacquelyn (John) Rizzardo. Waiting to greet Kristine are her parents: Joseph and Bertha Tenkely who preceded her in death. The joys of Kristine's life were her grandchildren. Spoiling them with special secret Amma treats without their mommy's approval delighted her. Holidays were always special for her daughters and grandchildren because a holiday fairy would leave them surprise gifts. Her imaginative and tender touches will be truly missed by them. Throughout her life, Kristine enjoyed participating in community theater productions. Tending to her garden and flowers were a favorite hobby. Kristine was a nurturer to both people and animals. Often rescuing wildlife and adopting stray cats was common because of her kind heartedness. She was a dedicated 17 year employee of Jewel-Osco with a work ethic that was admirable. A Morton H.S. Class of 1965 graduate. She was a faithful member of St. Michael the Archangel Church. Kristine was an enthusiastic Bulls fan as well. Funeral services will begin with prayers at 10:00 a.m. Saturday May 17, 2014 at Fagen-Miller Funeral Home, 8580 Wicker Avenue (US 41) St. John, IN followed by a 10:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Michael the Archangel Church, 1 W. Wilhelm St., Schererville, IN with the Reverend Ted Mauch officiating. Burial will follow at St. Michael's Cemetery Schererville, IN. Friends are welcomed to meet with the family at the funeral home on Friday, May 16, 2014 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Prayers service at 7:00 p.m. Kristine dedicated her life to taking care of her family before all else. She was a kind, thoughtful, loving selfless person. Her generosity and gentle presence will be greatly missed by her family and many friends. Memorials may be given in Kristine's name to the Share Foundation Rolling Prairie, IN. www.fagenmiller.com

Dear Gadbois and Rizzardo families,
Kristine was one of my dearest cousin's, such a sweet, hard working and thoughtful person. What she was going through and not complain, but even laugh, showed her strength. She loved and was so proud of all of you.
I will miss our conversations, her great cards and notes more than I can say. My sympathy to all of you. Our loss is heavens gain.

Remembering her with love,
Marlene

Please accept my heartfelt sympathy. Kris was a delightful person and we had so much fun laughing about our high school years and working together at Kohls. I am so sorry I cannot attend her service as I am in Florida caring for my mom. She has left you with many memories to share with those much loved grandchildren.
