Leonard Adams Obituary
Leonard F. Adams, age 86 of Deadwood, SD, formerly of Calumet City, IL passed away April 26, 2009. He is survived by sons: Leonard (Sharon) and Thomas (Risa); grandchildren: Christy, Tricia (Ernie), Kimberly (Joseph), and Thomas (Jennifer) ; also survived by great grandchildren: Noah and Brody; and brother, Steven. Preceded in death by wife, Dorothy and daughter in law, Janice. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 6, 2009, at 10:30 a.m. from the Schroeder -Lauer Funeral Home, 3227 Ridge Rd., to Our Lady of Knock Church for 11:00 a.m. Mass. Burial, Holy Cross Cemetery, Calumet City, IL. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home on Wednesday morning from 9:00-10:30 a.m. Leonard was a long time carpenter and builder throughout the Calumet Region and Northwest Indiana. He was also a veteran of the United States Marines having served in WWII.

I'm sorry to learn of Len's passing. I fondly remember Holidays at Len and Dorothy's, especially Christmas and helping him build his garage when I was about 9 or 10 years old. Leonard is what who I envision when I hear the term "the greatest generation"...he will be missed.

I am very sorry to hear of the loss of your Dad. He was always one of my favorite "Cousins". Like my sister we will always remeber the family get togethers in Chicago, Calumet City and even Holland Michigan!
