Michael Kozlowski Obituary
Michael Stephen Kozlowski "Koz" age 23 formerly of Crown Point (LOFS), passed away tragically in an ATV accident on Saturday, August 16, 2014. He is survived by his loving parents, Lori and Geoffrey Kozlowski; brother, Geoffrey; grandmother "Mamaw" Jean Lescak; many aunts and uncles : Beth Lescak, Marilu and J. Rivich, Michael and Anna Lescak, Greg Koslow, Kathy Ward, Rae Kozlowski, Dennis (Gail) Kozlowski, Celeste Murday and fiance Michael Chirich, Gerry Kozlowski, and Sandy (Joe) Bishop; many loving cousins. Michael also had many loving friends. Preceded in death by his grandparents: Steve and Bea Kozlowski and Michael Lescak; uncles: Rick Ward, Tim Kozlowski and Ned Murday. Michael graduated from Crown Point High School in 2009 where he lettered in baseball and football and was twice selected by the Times Newspaper as "Baseball Player of the Year", and also selected as the "Times Athlete of the Year". He received scholarships from both John Logan Junior College and Murray State University where he lettered in baseball and earned his degree in Electro Mechanical Engineering. During that time he was involved with an Engineering team from Murray State that won a prestigious national competition. After graduation Michael pursued a job at Nucor Steel and lived in Dyersburg, TN with his loving girlfriend, Toni Montgomery and dog Dolly Remington. Funeral service will be held on Friday, August 22, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. at Burns Funeral Home, 10101 Broadway, Crown Point, IN, with Pastor Dan Richwine officiating. Friends may visit with Michael's family on Friday from 2 to 7 p.m.(time of service) at Burns Funeral Home, Crown Point. www.burnsfuneral.com

He was in my 9th grade English class, and I will always remember his smile, his work ethic, and his polite demeanor. He was a joy to teach as a student and as a person. Michael was a very respectful young man who I had a lot of respect for in the way he carried himself. He was always courteous and carried himself with class and dignity. My condolences to the family and the Crown Point Bulldog baseball team.

I am still in disbelief that such a good person is gone. I know time has past since I have saw you last, but I do remember each and every time I ran into you it was always with a smile. I never felt like there was a disconnect with you as my a family member. You will be missed by so many people. You were one of a kind and will always be remembered.

Geoff, Lori and Geoffrey, you're all in my thoughts. It's up to our entire extended family now during this difficult time to help you all through it, but more importantly, to keep Michael's positive spirit and legacy alive! He left this world too soon, but may he live on forever in all of us. Michael, rest easy, rest peacefully, I will see you in the next life. I'll never forget you. The loss of a love one is so hard to face,
you just want to hide,
go somewhere and escape!
But death is something,
we all must go through,
I know it's hard,
when it's someone you loved and knew.
Just know now,
he is in a better place,
no more hurt or pain shall he face.
