RITA S. DAUMER (NEE REDELMAN) MUNSTER, IN
Rita S. Daumer (nee Redelman), age 90, of Munster, passed away June 26, 2012. She was born May 21, 1922 in Kouts, IN to Ferdinand and Flora Redelman. Rita is survived by her son, Michael Daumer of Crown Point; son, Kenneth Daumer of Highland; three grandchildren: Carol (Doug) Gutjahr of Crown Point, Robert Daumer of Orlando, FL, and Adrienne Daumer of Crown Point; two great grandchildren; sister, Lucille Danielson of Plymouth, IN; and brother, Paul (Edna) Redelman of Michigan City, IN. Preceded in death by husband, Leroy "Mike" Daumer; parents; sisters: Beulah, Catherine, Lila, Ruth, Florene, and Evelyn; and brothers: Edgar Ferdinand, Matthew, and Vincent. Rita was a graduate of Kouts High School Class of 1941. During WWII, she worked at General American Transportation in East Chicago. Rita worked as a clerk and administrative assistant at Smith Corona Marchant, Mercantile National Bank, and Ennis Realty. She was a member of St. John Bosco Catholic Church and a Eucharistic minister, Rosary Society, and in the Diocesan Catholic Conference of Women. Rita enjoyed crocheting, ceramics, and other crafts. Family and friends may call at Solan-Pruzin Funeral Home, 14 Kennedy Ave. (corner of Main and Kennedy), Schererville on Monday, July 2, 2012 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 405 E. Joliet St., Crown Point with Rev. Patrick Kalich officiating. She will lie in-state from 9:30 a.m. until time of mass. Services will conclude at the church. Cremation to follow at the Solan-Pruzin Crematory. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
