John Siegler Obituary

SIEGLER John Joseph Siegler DDS, of Stratford, died Monday, May 26, 2003, following a long illness. Born in Bridgeport in 1927, son of the late W. Bendges and Elizabeth Siegler. Following discharge from the United States Army, he graduated from Fordham University and McGill University Faculty of Dentistry. Dr. Siegler practiced dentistry in Bridgeport and taught for 10 years at the Fones School of Dental Hygiene. He was director of the Bridgeport Community Dental Clinic from 1970 until his retirement in 1995. During that time he was Adjunct Professor at the Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. He served as past president of the Bridgeport Dental Association and was delagate to the House of Delegates of the State of Connecticut State Dental Associaiton. He is survived by his wife, Mary; a son, John Nolan Siegler of Madison, Wi.; two daughters, Frances E. Dottolo of Charlotte, N.C., and Victoria M. Toeshoff of Fairfax Station, Va.; and five grandchildren; two sisters, Mary E. Siegler and Katherine Hewitt, both of Stratford; and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by a brother, William F. Siegler. Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass of Friday, May 30, 2003, at 10 a.m. in St. Mark Church, Stratford. Interment was private. The William R. McDonald Funeral Home, 2591 Main Street, Stratford, is in care of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Dr. Sieglers memory to AmeriCas, 161 Cherry Street, New Canaan, CT 06840.
