FELICIEN M. STEICHEN

STEICHEN--Felicien M. New York Medical College mourns the loss of our esteemed colleague and friend, Felicien M. Steichen, M.D., professor emeritus of surgery. Dr. Steichen was a recognized pioneer in the use of mechanical suturing devices and enjoyed a stellar career of international prominence in the field of minimally invasive surgical techniques. He served as chief of the College's Institute for Minimally Invasive Surgery, which he helped found for the treatment of patients and the training of surgeons in laparoscopic techniques.
