I just found out about Glenn's passing. My memories of him as a sweet little boy are so strong, that I can almost reach out and touch his beautiful hair.
Too many memories and too much sadness to write more, expect to express my deepest condolences to his entire family, extended family and friends.
With much love,

One of the saddest facts of life is death. Sadder though is if someone dies without a lasting legacy. I haven't seen Glenn Roberts in 30 + years, however the mention of his name inspires a cascade of childhood memories. Here is Glenn's legacy in my mind: Glenn was and will forever be the Golden boy who every girl in Harbor Hill Elementary School dreamed about! Only, he was taken! He was the first to have a beautiful "steady" girlfriend and was definitely "off limits" to the rest of us as early as 3rd or 4th grade! Glenn grew up to become the iconic high school athlete that all the cheerleaders (including me!) enjoyed cheering for. Especially when he played basketball on Roslyn High School's 1973 Dream Team!! He had a smile that lit up a room, which he generously shared even with "kids" that were not in his inner crowd. And, speaking of his inner crowd, it was clear that he belonged to a special group of friends whose mutual admiration and devotion was as thick as glue! In later life, I enjoyed Glenn sightings at Temple Beth Shalom where our families both belonged. Frankly, for me, coming home to Long Island for the High Holidays was so much more fun because of the friends I could see in temple. Though I wasn't an inner circle friend of this school boy icon, he treated me as one when we saw each other...he always had a warm, genuine "hello, how are you" hug for me. When I heard the tragic news of Glenn's passing on, it was very hard to accept or believe. In fact, it was shocking. But unfortunately, death is a part of life that we will all share. We all have our own stories which encompass our fate and destiny. We all have an unknown date with "the finish line." Glenn Roberts's life may be over, and for sure it was cut short way too soon...but his special legacy and that smile will live on forever.
