JACK ACKERMAN Obituary

ACKERMAN--Jack Rossin, passed away peacefully on May 27 from Parkinson's Disease at the age of 83. He was born to Florence and Robert Ackerman in NYC. He graduated from Berkshire School, Harvard College '53, Harvard Business School '55. Jack began his career as an investment banker at Bache & Company where he worked for 25 years before going to Drexel Burnham and then starting Bondreview. He was a member of numerous corporate boards. Jack was a dedicated trustee of the Jewish Board of Family & Children's Service and the Jewish Foundation for the Education for Women. Jack will be remembered as a kind, gentle and caring person with the highest integrity. He was happiest while skiing, playing golf at Century and tennis in his "old men's" game. He had a passion for the theater, museums, concerts and the New York City Ballet. The time he spent in his garden in Pound Ridge brought him the greatest pleasure. Jack is survived by his beloved wife Dana of 39 years; cherished father of Ellen Miller (Peter) of Wayne, PA, Jay Ackerman (Elizabeth) of Bronxville and Robin Foley (Paul) of New Canaan. His son Bradley predeceased him. He also leaves his 10 grandchildren, Avery Eyre Lovejoy, Ashley, Toby and Libby Eyre, Brendan and Eamon Foley, Alexa Ackerman, James, Peter and Cooper Ackerman and a great-granddaughter Lila. A sister Jean Ackerman Thies also survives him. Donations in Jack's memory may be made to: JBFCS, 135 West 50th St., 6th Floor, NYC, NY 10020. The family will be receiving at the Frank Campbell Funereal Chapel, 1076 Madison Ave. at 81st St. on Thursday, May 29th, 5:30 - 7:30pm.

My dad was a devoted father and grandfather. He lived a full, cultured life. He was loved my friend and family, alike. We will all miss him.
