Really sorry to hear about your passing Jerry Weintraub . You made family films and cared about the audience and also helped others.

You were one of a kind!
The years I spent with you were incomprehensible to anyone who wasn't there!
If I had nothing but the memory of you adding shows at MADISON SQUARE GARDEN for ELVIS when you wore my MAZEL and asked me if I was sure before each one you added, and then the actual concerts side stage with you and bringing GEORGE HARRISON and PETE BENNETT backstage to meet ELVIS , DAYENU , it would have been enough to remember you forever!
Just as important and relevant though was what you did for CHABAD and your love of the REBBE!
I for one will never forget you!

I had the pleasure of knowing and working for Jerry Weintraub. I was the hostess/manager of the Ocean's Club at Warner Bros during the filming of Ocean's 13. He was a kind, funny and big personality! He and Susie were so kind to me. My heart is broken for Susie and Jerry's family and friends. A light has gone out that cannot be replaced by anyone! Thank you for allowing me to be a part of a very exclusive, once in a life time experience. I will never forget the laughter from the cast as Jerry would share his jokes and stories. I was honored to be a part of his life and I will never forget him!

Jerry, left us with the gift of movies. With those: the gift to imagine, dream, make believe, to wonder, to laugh and to dream. From the messages I've just read he was a generous and kind man.
Jerry it sounds like had a love, and a daughter.
I believe to leave a legacy like this is the have lived a blessed life.
We celebrate you Jerry! I thank~you for sharing these gifts. My family had spent "quality time" together enjoying several of your movies. Thank you Lord for giving us Jerry as long as you did!

Touched by Mr. Weintraub's sense of equity, I spent one day with him at a meeting where he appeared to assiduously advocate for a prior partner's widow just because it was the right thing to do. Overwhelmed by his charm, humor and generosity, my life was irrevocably touched by his brief passing through.

Hmmm. Awkward. Heartbreaking. You see, I never met Jerry face to face I did however spend some years with some family and an amazing weekend with Jane. I heard many, many great and funny stories. She told me to get his book. Have to read it. So I did. I loved it. I'm sorry Jane for your loss and everyone else. I wish I could have met Jerry but feel blessed to have had wonderful personal time with Jane. Deepest wishes for all who suffer this loss.

You were the most famous person I ever knew. It was a thrill the several times you called me" Jerry here" and there was no mistaking who was on the phone. Every time you called you were doing me a favor or doing a kindness for me. I feel like I have lost " my go to guy." I love and appreciate you. I was so lucky to know you. My deepest sympathy to Jane and his children.

To a fascinating man, whom I admired & was on my bucket list to hopefully meet one day, after watching "His Way" & reading his book. A huge loss for the movie industry & my condolences to his entire family, especially Jane & Susie. I am incredibly sad to hear of his sudden & untimely passing. SO sorry I never got to know him, as George C said so eloquently.

I had the privilege of recording his autobiography "When I Stop Talking You'll Know I'm Dead" for the blind community a few years ago. Although I never met Jerry Weintraub in person, I feel as if I knew him quite well after reading and recording his story. He wasn't a perfect man (none of us are) but he was a gifted, generous, funny and caring "mensch". Jerry will be missed, but not forgotten. May God bless his soul and comfort his family and many friends.

"Persist, push, hang on, keep going, never give up. When the man says no, pretend you can't hear him. Look confused, stammer, say, Huh? Persistenceit's a cliché, but it happens to work. The person who makes it is the person who keeps on going after everyone else has quit. This is more important than intelligence, pedigree, even connections. Be dogged! Keep hitting that door until you bust it down! I have accomplished almost nothing on the first or second or even the third trythe breakthrough usually comes late, when everyone else has left the field." I loved this so much, I sent it to Mr. Weintraub to autograph it.

Here In Heaven

Written In Memory Of
Jerry Weintraub

Jerry Weintraub used to tell the story of how once, when he was so ill, his soul began to leave his body. He said he heard the voice of the Rebbe (Menachem Schneerson) call out from the Heavens, It's not his time! We need him here on earth! There upon, his soul returned to his body, to continue on in the role that it was cast to play in this earth-film we call life.

Now, they need Jerry up in Heaven and have cast his soul for another role to produce. But if you listen closely, you can, once again, hear the voice of the Rebbe calling out to Jerry, and even to us. Just bend an ear to the stars and listen quietly and you will hear the Rebbe's voice speaking about Jerry and he is saying...

They need him here in Heaven
Let all the Angels know
Even though it's summer
Tears, like rain, now flow

Pause all his movies
Quiet all the songs
We thought his earth-film would last forever
We were wrong
We were wrong

Jerry,

You were cast a leading part in life
You played your lines so well
You lit the screen of all your days
So many stories, still left to tell

But the screenplay of your life
Contains this most important line
You are an academy award yourself, my friend
Because,
You let others shine

So they need him there in Heaven
But in the stars he still plays on
His soul's upon G-d's endless Stage
Where the spotlight of all souls goes on
For the stars are all G-d's Credits
And Jerry's still shines strong
Upon G-d's Stage of forever
Were every soul plays on and on
Yes, the role of Jerry's soul is forever
For G-d's Film goes on and on

In Lasting Memory,

Eric Sander Kingston
