KEVIN ARONIN Obituary

ARONIN--Kevin J., beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend died suddenly on Wednesday, May 4th at his vacation home in Pontoon, County Mayo, Ireland. Kevin was born in New York City on August 23, 1954. A brilliant businessman and foresighted entrepreneur, he had a knack for creating something from nothing, a relentless drive for success and unbeatable instincts. Most recently, he founded PlasmaNet, Inc. in 1999 and its FreeLotto website, capitalizing on the promise of internet entertainment early in its heyday. Charity was his passion. He was guided by the concept of noblesse oblige - the obligation to make the best of an individual's gifts and skills in order to better the world we live in. With each success in business, he was determined to contribute to the greater good. He was a notable philanthropist who supported many charities over his lifetime. He enjoyed learning about other cultures and had a particular soft spot for immigrants seeking the American Dream. He had a charisma that made him the life of any party and a natural leader. Kevin was at his best when he was cooking and entertaining for others, finding the greatest joy in feeding people and putting smiles on their faces. He was a gifted storyteller and teacher, and had a seemingly endless supply of funny jokes, which he loved to share with his friends and family. He read all three New York papers every day, and he could never seem to satisfy his thirst for knowledge. He is survived by his wife Anne; his four children, Shannon, Sean, Caitlin, and Lauren; his adopted son, Kevin Wong; his son-in-law, Edward Eppright; his dearly loved and only grandson, Eamon Eppright; his siblings, Michael, Patricia, and Nancy; and his uncle, Howard Aronin. He also leaves behind his Newfoundland, Duke, whom Kevin considered his sixth child. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends and colleagues, but he would rather his life be celebrated. Visiting hours at the Lloyd Maxcy Funeral Home, 16 Shea Place, New Rochelle, NY 10801 will be on Sunday, May 08, 2011 from 7pm-9pm, Monday 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Mass of Christian burial will be held at Blessed Sacrament Church at 10.30am on Tuesday, May 10, 2011. Interment immediately following Mass. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory to HOPE Community Services, 50 Washington Ave., New Rochelle, NY 10801 is appreciated.

My deep condolence to the family of this great persona KEVIN and his Plasma Net . I remember his constant one month effort for me during 2006 October/November with FreeLotto
winning which I failed to accept due to the domestic compliance . I was so impressed with his effort for me, but missed this fortune to meet this great man . His biography inspires me too much .Today, after a long time when I am going through his site, I could just know that he is no more and had passed just one year back .

May his soul live in peace .My deep condolence again to Kevin's all beloved family members and his Plasma
Net on his 1st death anniversary today.

I was so sorry to hear of Kevin's passing. He was a pioneer and a gracious businessman. I was fortunate to have done business with Kevin, when i was operating SilverCarrot. He always had a new twist, a way of extracting revenue and finding opportunity in new places. Most importantly there was always a great story to share and a smile.

Anne my deepest sympathy to you and your family. a person as big in personality as Kevin leaves an empty space and will be greatly missed.

Sincerely,

Anne - we never got to meet, what with one thing and another and that constant "oh, maybe next year", and then time went and ran out. Kevin used to tell me stories about you, how you met, how you saved his business, how you'd kill him if he went to Vegas instead of coming home, Anne this and that...and when he talked about you his eyes just glowed and his face always lit up. He loved you so much.

He was so kind to me, and such fun. It's an odd friendship we had, given that it started with me blocking his mail, but I treasured it, and I'm going to miss him inexpressibly. I am just stunned. My heart goes out to you and your family, and everyone else who loved him, at home or work.

The world will be empty without Kevin Aronin but Heaven will be a better place from now on. There will be laughter and there will be told jokes. There will be discussions about 1000’s of things. There will be a lot of cooking, great dinners and big parties. There will be “hygge”. There will be adventures and sightseeing for newcomers and everyone will feel welcome.

We on earth will miss him so very much.

To Anne, Shannon, Sean, Kathy and Lauren: We are thinking of you and you have our deepest sympathy throughout this time. We miss you as well and truly hope to see you soon. We are so sorry that we did not have the possibility to share this time with you in person, but you are all in our thoughts and hearts.

We pray for you and Kevin.

Much love,

KEVIN -- Our dear friend Kevin...Noble Kevin -- The Oxford Dictionary defines "noble" as: " having or showing fine personal qualities or high moral principles and ideals" My dear friend and mentor. My hearfelt sympathy to the Aronin family. The fond memories of Kevin just flood in to my mind: He and his lovely wife Anne surprised us 3 years in a row with wonderful visits to comfort my wife who died of a long illness in February in Belgium. They spent 5 to 6 hours with Yasmin in hospital as she fought her illness. The last two years they came again to cook delicious meals and comfort us as only they could. It was unbelievable! Kevin's eulogy: "thoughts of Yasmin" is a masterpiece.

Noble Kevin we were lucky to be his friend! With MUCH LOVE....

Steve Kappel (and Yasmin, too)
