MITCHELL AIGEN Obituary

AIGEN--Mitch. The partners and staff of EisnerAmper mourn the passing of one of the firm's founders, our partner and good friend, Mitch Aigen. Brilliant, creative, insightful and a superb teacher, Mitch gave so much of himself to others and could make anyone feel confident, competent and valued. A pioneer in the accounting profession, Mitch was a great role model and mentor for so many. Mitch--a founding Partner of Richard A. Eisner & Company, a forerunner of today's EisnerAmper--was born in New York City and grew up in East New York, Brooklyn. He was a proud graduate of New York University and Brooklyn Law School, earning an accounting and a law degree, respectively. After serving in the Army, he began his career at Eisner & Lubin. In 1963, Ted Levine, Dick Eisner and Mitch Aigen struck out on their own and founded Richard A. Eisner & Company in a small two-room office in New York City. Mitch, a CPA, was the firm's esteemed tax leader. Today, EisnerAmper is now one of the largest accounting and business consulting firms in the U.S., owing much to the foundation Mitch worked tirelessly to build. Mitch was a passionate supporter of Israel, sports, and the arts. But nothing mattered more to him than his family. Our deepest sympathies go out to his wife of 69 years Maxine; his children Kenneth, Amy and Glenn; and his extended family and friends.
