NICHOLAS LIBERATORE Obituary

LIBERATORE--Nicholas A., of Weston, CT, the beloved husband of Marianne Westpalm van Hoorn Liberatore, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 13, 2011 at the age of 94. Born on June 19, 1916 in New York City to Alexander and Angelina Liberatore, he grew up one of seven children on Staten Island. He served as a Captain in the US Army during WWII and later embarked on a successful career in international business that took him to Latin America and Spain. At retirement, he was Executive Vice President of Gentstar Ltd., San Francisco, but remained active well into his 70's as a full time consultant to the Royal Bank of Canada. He was an avid sailor, an inveterate story-teller and an active member of the business community who will be missed by all who knew him. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children Virginia, George, Nicholas, Elliott and Mark; his stepchildren, Joseph and Willem Jewett and ten grandchildren. He was predeceased by his first wife, Jean MacAdam. Services were held at Trinity Episcopal Church in Southport, CT. To send an online condolence visit www.shaughnesseybanks.com
