OSCAR DAVIS

DAVIS--Oscar. The officers, board, and staff of the American Technion Society (ATS) mourn the loss of Mr. Oscar Davis of New York. He was a member of the ATS New York Metropolitan Region Board for more than a decade, and a Technion Guardian, a designation for those who have reached the highest level of commitment. In 2011, Mr. Davis was awarded a Technion Honorary Fellowship in recognition of dedication and support of the Technion and the State of Israel. His involvement with the Technion was influenced by his own engineering background, and reinforced by his campus visits. His many gifts to the university included the Oscar and Betty Davis Graduate Student Fellowship, as well as support for a new auditorium, apartments for graduate students, STEM programs for children, and technology to advance innovative faculty research. Mr. Davis also employed several Technion graduates in his company. We extend our heartfelt condolences to Mr. Davis' beloved wife, Rebecca; son Robert Davis, who is a member of the Technion Board of Governors; daughters Frances Turner and Carol Davis; and the entire family.
