When I came to University of Colorado Medical School to join as an Assistant Professor, he was one of the first to welcome me, and thereafter we became close colleagues and friend. He was very much interested in viral hepatitis and we carried out collaborations. We used to play tennis in the school courts on 9th Ave and I could not ever win a game. He always beat me in tennis. We traveled together to London for a hepatitis conference and stayed together in the hotel. In the middle of conference, he returned home to be for his son's birthday. I just found out as I was thinking of him. What a great guy, friend, colleague, always welcoming with a smile. I treasure fond memories of him for ever.

What a great, wonderful friend, husband and father. Noting Peter (and who wouldn't) at a Saint Paul's soccer match in the 80's, I knew he had to be Andy's father (family resemblance ?) and introduced myself. Our families and others we involved became fast friends from then on. His cheery demeanor, friendship, local politics' banter and pride of his alma mater will be sorely missed. McLeans all send love and heartfelt sorrow to Christa, Michael, Nicky, Andy and to all those Peter loved.
