RAYMOND HAN Obituary

HAN--Raymond G. J.

September 29, 1931-April 18, 2017. Painter and sculptor with work in many private, corporate, and museum collections. Born in Honolulu, residing New York until 2007 and in Cooperstown, NY, where he died. Represented in New York successively by the Robert Schoelkopf, Forum, and Jason McCoy galleries. Raised with six siblings by Korean immigrant parents, he earned scholarships at The Honolulu Academy of Art and The Art Students League in New York. Teachers included William Stamper, Frank Mason, Robert Beverly Hale, and John Koch (privately). Survived by Paul Kellogg, his partner of 60 years, siblings Edna and Thomas, loving nieces and nephews in California and Honolulu, and many friends. Contributions may be sent to Bassett Medical Center, Glimmerglass Opera, Fenimore Art Museum, all in Cooperstown, or Catskill Area Hospice, Oneonta. He requested no services; his work will be his memorial.

i continue to think of Raymond and Cragsmoor every day when I look at my picture, as I am doing just now as it is just to the left of my desk. I often think of paul and raymond and their wonderful cragsmoor house and how much fun we had. Kirby
