WEISS--Stephen H. We are deeply saddened by the loss of our dear friend and colleague Stephen H. Weiss. Chairman Emeritus of the Board of Trustees of Cornell University, Counselor to the University President and a member of the Board of Trustees for 24 years, Steve championed the needs of Weill Cornell Medical College, where he served as the institution's first Chairman of the Board of Overseers in 1980. As a steadfast guardian of the institution, Steve oversaw the process of putting Weill Cornell at the forefront of education, cutting-edge biomedical research and unexcelled patient care. A committed Life Overseer and among the Medical College's most generous benefactors, Steve and his wife, Suzanne, endowed the Medical College's deanship in 1984. They have also supported many different clinical areas, with a special emphasis on cardiovascular medicine and the work of Dr. O. Wayne Isom, Chairman of the Department of Cardiothoracic Medicine at Weill Cornell Medical College. Generous with his time, energy, and good counsel, Steve's loyalty and genuine love for the institution serves as an example to us all. He will be sorely missed.
