Sulamita Heyman Obituary

HEYMAN--Sulamita, 81. Died February 27, 2009. Born Sulamita Szarf. Survivor of the Lodz Ghetto, Auschwitz and Bergen-Belsen. Proud graduate of Sarah Lawrence College. Cherished wife of Richard S. Heyman of Scarsdale, New York. Adored mother to Paul Heyman and the ultimate grandmother ("Mamu") to Azalea and Jacob, whose lives will forever been enriched by her teachings through love and dignified example. Loving mother-in-law to Marla. Devoted Aunt to Laurie (Gerardo) Pina, Mitchell (Joan) Norwin, and Wendy (Wayne) Zeilner. Mentor to several, friend to many, and philosopher to even more. She never looked back. She always looked forward and lived everyday with the intent of carrying the spirits of her mother Hinka and her sister Judith, who perished in the Holocaust. The world is a poorer place today without her remarkable presence. Services Sunday, March 1 at Noon at The Weinstein Memorial, 1652 Central Park Avenue, Yonkers, NY 10710, (914)793-3800.
