Yet another of my Stepinac classmates has passed...and all of us who knew Vince are once again diminished just a bit more by his loss. Yet, in our own way, we are all profoundly grateful for having had the pleasure of knowing him. Eternal peace to you Vince, and my sincere condolences and prayers to your family and friends.

Vinnie was 2 years behind me in college and a loyal member of TI. I have enjoyed reading the comments about a fine guy as the views resonate with my fond memories of an outstanding person.

I had the good fortune to meet Vince at Iona Prep and periodically throughout my career. He was always interested in what I was doing and provided his insight and advice. A true gentleman and good friend.

My sympathies and prayers to his family and friends during this difficult time of loss.

Vince was a teacher of mine at Iona Prep and a mentor early in my career. I saw him several times since then. Such an excellent guy in every respect....smart, sensible, compassionate and patient. My condolences to his wife, children and family.

I am so sorry for your loss. Mr. Farrell was a shining light on Wall Street--we never met, but he visited often in my home through the magic of CNBC, and his presence was always comforting, even as his commentary was thoughtful, balanced, measured, and so so insightful. You are so blessed to have had him as a wife, father, role-model, and paragon of all that is right and good with the world. Thank you, and you and he are all in my prayers. God Bless.

It was a sincere pleasure to have known and worked with a man of such integrity and good humor. He stood out as someone who cared about his clients and coworkers, always concerned about their best interests and well being. I know the family takes comfort and pride in the way Vince led his life. May he be in peace.
My deepest sympathy.

Vince was so many things: a mentor, a teacher, a comrade, a guide, most importantly: a friend. I had the privilege to sit next to him. Even though we overlapped for a relatively short time, Vince's qualities of compassion, integrity, humor, and intelligence pervaded every interaction equally from the "spittoon cleaner" on up to the CEO. Yet, no accolade or market conquest could light Vince up as dramatically or proudly as any conversation about his family (especially Lola Jane!) My prayers and warmest thoughts go out to the entire Farrell family and I thank you for sharing a little piece of this fine man.

When Vince spoke, so many of us listened. He was a voice of reason on Wall Street and I will miss his wisdom.

I believe we arrive here primarily as eternal souls enclothed with bodies, not merely bodies who somehow have souls. I hope you get that distinction and my thoughts may offer some comfort to you. To me it means the True Vince, now resides at peace surrounded by beautiful light, music, and God's love in his heavenly home.

Coltilde and Family, It was an honor working with Vince. He was instrumental in my move from Cleveland to New York and helped me as a mentor many years after our time together at Victory SBSF. A great investor, ambassador of the markets, and a true gentleman...the loss of a great man! My prayers are with you and the family.

Mr Farrell was my favorite teacher at Iona Prep, and also my coach for 3 years- he made learning interesting, not some cookie cutting curriculem. As a coach, he was inspirational- as a sophomore during practice, he pulled me aside and told me I was the best player on the team- I certainly didn't feel that way, but it gave me great confidence knowing my coach felt that way- I would run through a wall for him. Years later we reconnected on Wall Street, having lunch together in his office, something that meant alot to someone just starting out. My deepest sympathy to Clotilde, children, and rest of family- you guys are blessed to have had him in your lives..Godspeed, Ken Rehders, Iona Prep, 73'

In my visit with Vinny, it was only too clear that of all his successes, non were greater than how blessed he felt by his marriage to Clotilde, whom he adored and the precious gift of his children that meant everything to him. I was truly humbled by the beauty of his heart.

November 17, 2014

I hope this helps fill your loss some- Vince Farrell had an important influence on this Iona Prep Senior student so many years ago. He will live long on our hearts and stories.

I remember when you played football for Stepinac in the 1963 season. You were a teammate of Billy Austin. You guys beat Iona Prep 28-26 in a big upset. I also caddied with you at Brae Burn in 1967. That was a long time ago. Sorry to hear of your passing.

November 17, 2014

You have my heartfelt condolences for the loss of your husband. May it bring you a measure of peace knowing all that Vincent accomplished. May God also provide you with peace, strength and lasting comfort. (John 5:25-29)
