I remember that my husband George always liked playing bridge with Bill and I will never forget the fun we had taking dancing lessons with the Rothschilds, Sterns and Anspachs many, many years ago.

I met Bill & Beverly many years ago when my relative Bob Tan & his wife Jit, their old friends from Medan, Indonesia, came to visit New York. We had lunch in Chinatown, catching up their lost time. Through Bill I had reconnected with my childhood friend, son of big rubber plantation owner, who coincidentally also lived in Queens, NY.
RIP uncle Bill.

I am now the president of the (much smaller) company that Bill's dad Marcus began so long ago. Watching Bill work the phones was a complete education for me as to how to close the deal while enjoying whoever it was on the other end of the line. He was personable, charismatic, and fun to be around. He had his priorities straight, too. No matter how deeply embroiled in a situation, Bill always dropped everything whenever his wife or boys called. We will miss him.

You were a grand gentleman of sharp wit. I always enjoyed playing bridge at your table. You will be greatly missed.

I knew Bill from New York when I worked for ACLI Rubber Co and Cargill Rubber. He was always such a pleasant man and taught me a lot about the natural crude rubber market. I've lived in Palm Springs since 1987 and had no idea he moved to the desert in 2006. My sincere condolences. Donna DenBleyker
