Ronald Comer Obituary

ODESSA - Ronald Ray "Ron" Comer, age 72, passed away at his home in Odessa on Thursday, July 29, 2021. He was born Monday, June 13, 1949 in Bloomfield, IA to the late Guy Raymond and Erma Irene (Roberts) Comer. He worked as a machinist. Ron was an amazing husband, dad, brother and Grandpa.

Ron was a "car guy" whose passion was rebuilding cars. His kids' first cars were his just some of his projects. He was a huge fan of hot rods, street rods, dirt tracks and quarter mile racing. A real people person, Ron knew people all over and would go out of his way to help others or to visit with friends and share stories. He enjoyed going on cruises and attending car shows. He was the king of bartering.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife: Rebecca Ann Comer, who passed on Valentine's Day of 2002; and his brother: Rick Comer.

Ron was also known as "Pa Kettle" to his family. Those left to cherish his love and memory are his son: Brian Ray Comer and his fiancée Sheri; daughter: Billie Moore and husband Jason; brothers: Steve Comer and wife Connie, Ben Comer and wife Georgia; sister: Tammie Hartley and husband John; and one precious granddaughter: Briana Moore. Briana was his angel and saving grace, especially after the loss of Rebecca. He loved to spoil Briana and they were like two peas in a pod.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 am at Acres West Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, August 4, 2021, officiated by Pastor Craig DeArmond. Burial will be privately held at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Services are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel and condolences may be sent to the family online at acreswestfuneral.com.

Ron was a one-of-a-kind guy. I hope his skills were inherited by his children as well as his compassion for others. He made certain to always ask how each of us were doing when seeing one of us, Kenny at chemo, me when I spoke with him. He fought a long hard battle and is now at peace, rejoicing in Heaven amongst his loved ones before him. I pray for comfort in the hearts of those left behind and the ability to smile when that cool soft whisper of the days breeze comes across their faces, knowing he is forever in their hearts... Each time I see a pair of denim overalls, I will think of Ron and smile ; ) Thank you Ron for sharing your life with us... @~>~
