Abbey Renee Rhoades, 35, of South Franklin Township, passed away Monday, November 15, 2021, due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
She was born September 9, 1986, in Washington, a daughter of Jack R. Rhoades Jr. of Washington and the late Sharon A. Steele Rhoades.
Abbey loved music, the outdoors, camping, fishing and swimming. She also enjoyed gardening and chicken farming; and the bartering that went along with that.
She enjoyed volunteering as a food bank worker in Prosperity and donated her time as a caregiver to people in need.
TRIPL and Help at Home employed her as a caregiver for about six years.
Surviving are her father, Jack R. Jr. (Drema) Rhoades of Washington; a son, Rusty Shane DeBolt Jr.; her sisters, Burnadette (Eric) Rhoades-Allen and April Rhoades, both of Washington; her stepsister, Tiffany (Joel) Meyers of Meadowlands; and a stepbrother, Ricky Howard of Washington. Also surviving are her third grandmother, Phyllis Rhoades of Thornville, Ohio; and her nieces and nephews, Emily Affolter, Justin Allen, Joseph Allen, Jacob Allen, Layla DeBolt and Hadley DeBolt; a great-niece, Kathryn Affolter; several cousins, aunts and uncles.
She was preceded in death, in addition to her mother, by her grandparents, William and Emma Mull Steele, and Jack Ray Sr. and Elizabeth Junkins Rhoades; and her son's father, Rusty Shane DeBolt Sr.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, November 20 and 21, in Dale D. DeAngelo Funeral Home, 1290 Jefferson Avenue, Washington. A eulogy will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, November 22, in the funeral home followed by interment in Washington Cemetery.
