Barbara Hughes Obituary

Barbara Diane Morris Hughes, born February 24, 1935, passed away on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, in Huntington Beach, CA, after a long battle with Alzheimer's. She was a daughter of the late Lawrence and Mayme Morris and sister to Jack Morris, all of East View, PA. Diane married Fred Hughes in 1958, and together they raised eight children. A devoted wife, mother, and woman of quiet strength and faith, Diane's life was defined by love, resilience, and grace. She touched many lives and will be deeply missed. She is survived by her eight children and their spouses-Lauren Trimarchi, Tammy and Stephen Tipple, Vicki and David Whitter, Rebecca and Joseph Carretta, Fred Hughes, Jack and Grace Hughes, Amy and Patrick O'Sullivan, and Doug and Crystal Hughes; seven grandchildren; Greg Hughes, Nicholas & Jake Tipple, Logan Hughes, Alex & Rose Whitter, Isabella Hughes and one great-grandson, Jameson Hughes. A private interment for the family will be held at Greene County Memorial Cemetery. A celebration of Diane's life will take place at the Denny House on Friday, May 9, 2025, from 2 to 5 p.m. All are welcome.
