Helen Pandelos Obituary
Helen Virginia Pandelos, 81, of Peters Township, passed away Saturday, October 12, 2019. She had resided at Friendship Village of Upper St. Clair for five years prior to her passing.
She was born in Bellville, Ohio, on March 31, 1938, to Albert Leroy Hartline and Sara Catherine Hartline.
She is survived by five children, Deanna Phasupong of Washington, Debby Kaufman (late husband Nathan Kaufman) of Irmo, S.C., Christine Jones of Aspinwall, Athena Crookshank (husband Matthew) of Canonsburg and Tasso Pandelos (wife Dina) of Venetia. She was the sister of Sandy, Gordon, Eddie and the late Jean, Jack, Flora, and Frank. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, Christopher (Brenda), Missy (AJ), Mandee (Jimmy), Paul, Nathan, Natalie (Peter), Nikolas, Haley, Sophia and Chloe, and eight great-grandchildren.
Helen was former owner/operator of Ernie's Esquire Supper Club in McMurray, banquet manager at the Sheraton Station Square in Pittsburgh and was active in establishing her son's first store in Bethel Park, Mm! Mm! Pizza.
Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in Beinhauer Funeral Home, 2828 Washington Road, McMurray, 724-941-3211, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 15, followed by interment in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Peters Township.

It´s almost 5 years Mom. I´m still trying to make your Mashed Potatoes, they´re close enough, but not the same.
You started life with pebbles, and gave us a mountain. I´m always trying to understand how you got your strength, courage, your loveliness, class and determination. I´m forever grateful to have you as my Mom, and I love you so much!

Gary and I send our heartfelt condolences for the loss of your Mom and friend. Helen found such great joy in her family. I was privileged to share her contagious joy one sunny afternoon on Athena's deck. Listening to the stories, memories and sharing their laughter!
May your memories give you peace and strength through this time and throughout your lives.

My Mom was my friend. One day, we were at the Iron Butterfly, dining before a Play at the Benedum. We were seated at a table on the 2nd floor Balcony, FAR, far above the diners below, in the atrium.
Mom told a joke, and her arm came down on the fork, and I was laughing so hard my arm came down on that fork too
AND BEFORE WE KNEW IT, THAT FORK WENT SAILING OVER THE RAILING, soooooooooo far down, AND LANDED SMACK-DAB INTO THE MIDDLE OF A ROUND TABLE of 8 PEOPLE EATING DINNER TOGETHER IN THE ATRIUM!
Mom & I were so scared! But when we looked down over the balcony, we saw these little faces giving us a thumbs up, smiling, saying it was ok,lol!
We laughed until we cried.
