Leroy E. Preston

Leroy Earl Preston, 78, of Langeloth, passed away on Saturday morning, September 7, 2024, in the Weirton Medical Center. He was born and raised in Cherry Valley, on August 14, 1946, a son of the late Robert D. and Sarah McClements Preston. He enjoyed piloting small airplanes in his younger years, watching the Pittsburgh Steelers and attended the Atlasburg Church of the Nazarene. Mr. Preston retired from LTV Steel in Aliquippa. His loving wife, Alice Marie Noga Preston, who he married on April 23, 1970, survives. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are his three children: Michelle Morgan and husband, Bradley of Canonsburg; Debbie Bender and husband, Mike of Langeloth and Michael Preston of Burgettstown; grandchildren: Dalton and Zachary Crothers, Emily Meyers and husband, Alexander, Isabella Bender, Michael Preston, Jr., Faith Marie Preston and Nathan Preston; a sister, Mary Martha Chalupa of Aliquippa; and many nieces and nephews. Deceased, in addition to his parents, are his oldest son, Leroy Preston, Jr.; brothers, Robert, Johnny and Frank Preston; and sisters: Sarah Jean Preston Haggerty, Gracie R. Preston and Margaret "Tiny" Weber. Family and friends will be received from 11 a.m. until the time of a service at 1 p.m., on Wednesday, September 11, in the Slater Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc. of Burgettstown, 73 Highland Avenue, Burgettstown, PA 15021.
