Michael Turk Obituary

Michael A. Turk, a distinguished veteran and devoted family man, passed away Friday, April 11, 2025, in Allegheny General Hospital. He was born October 5, 1965, in Canonsburg Hospital, to Carole L. Montgomery Turk and the late Roger J. Turk. Michael dedicated over 37 years of his life to the United States Air Force, proudly serving as an aircraft mechanic first with the 112th Tactical Fighter Group then 171st Air Refueling Airwing, both in Moon Township, before his retirement. His commitment to duty and service was a testament to his character, and he garnered respect from colleagues and comrades alike. Michael was a proud graduate of Fort Cherry High School, finishing his studies in 1983, before furthering his education at the Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics. His educational pursuits laid the foundation for a career that would span decades, during which he embraced the values of discipline and integrity instilled in him by his military service. An avid lover of the outdoors and a man of simple pleasures, Michael found great joy in tending to his lawn, excelling on the golf course, and sharing moments with friends over drinks. His greatest pride and joy, however, were his two children, Madison and Nathan Turk. He cherished the time spent with them and took an active role in their lives, imparting wisdom and nurturing their interests. He is survived by his two children, Madison and Nathan, who carry forward his legacy; and his ex wife of 20 years, Rhonda Turk. He leaves behind a loving brother, Roger J. Turk; and two devoted sisters, Tracy Peace and Lori Painter, who will forever hold him in their hearts. Michael A. Turk will be remembered for his unwavering dedication, warm spirit, and the love he shared with his family and friends. His presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know him. There will be a celebration of life gathering, in Michael's honor, held at a later date; details to be announced by the family.
