2022
Patricia Ruth Hugi Beecham, 83, of Washington, passed away Wednesday, March 23, 2022, with her family at her side.
She was born May 28, 1938, in Northwood, Iowa; a daughter of the late Delmer Christian and Ruby Grace McDonald Hugi.
Mrs. Beecham was a 1956 graduate of Washington High School, where she was in the Senior Trio, District Chorus, A Cappella Choir, and Mixed Ensemble.
On June 30, 1957, she married Jack Edwin Beecham, at the First Christian Church located in Washington.
She enjoyed singing, especially with her sisters, as a member of Sweet Adelines, and later with the Washington Festival Chorale. She worked in the office of CR Hobbs and Sons, and later McKean Plumbing until her retirement.
Spending time with her family was most important to her, especially her grandchildren, who were her endless joy. Whether Sundays spent around the table with her family or attending her grandchildren's activities, she was always eager to support them.
She enjoyed her car trips to Bar Harbor, Maine, where she sat in the park with her husband; it was her quiet place.
Devoted to her faith, she was an active, long-term member of Mt. Pleasant Presbyterian Church in Washington.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her four children, Jack Edwin Beecham, Jr. (Becky), of Washington, James Christian Beecham, Sr. (Margaret), of Washington, Trevor William Beecham, II. (Jale) of Milton, Ky., and Tracy Lynn Wheeler (Brandon), of Washington; as well as, 10 grandchildren, Samantha McGlothlin (Nathan), Amanda Beecham, James Beecham, Jr., Sara Eaton (Joseph), Emily Beecham, Jack Beecham, III., Jacob Beecham, Trevor Beecham, III., Hannah Beecham, and Sydney Wheeler; along with one great-granddaughter, Victoria McGlothlin.
In addition to her parents, Patricia is preceded in death by her sisters, Marjorie Gettman, Janice Henry, and Myrna Hugi.
