Terrell Bruce "Butch" McCown, of Kingwood, TX, went to be with the Lord on June 18, 2016 after a long battle with cancer. He was born on August 17, 1941 in Limestone County, AL. to Richard Leon "Sam" McCown and Maude Smith McCown.
Butch is survived by his wife of 51 years Sandra Milam McCown of Kingwood, TX. (formerly of Decatur, AL.); his son Bruce McCown of Kingwood TX.; his daughters Paige McCown of Houston, TX. and Jennifer McCown Franks of Richmond, TX; his grandchildren Austin McCown of College Station, TX.; Blake McCown serving at Naval Base Kitsap in Bremerton, WA.; Carly Franks and Natalie Franks of Richmond, TX.
He also is survived by a large extended family including Donald and Wanda McCowen of Marietta, GA.; Jerry and Kathy McCown of Huntsville, AL.; Richard and Angie McCown of Toney, AL.; Paul and Nancy McCown of Murfreesboro, TN.; and Karen and Thomas Norton of Elkmont, AL. In addition to many beloved nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents Sam and Maude McCown, his brother Howard Kenneth McCown, and his sister Margaret Helen McCown Freeman.
A visitation will be held at Kingwood United Methodist Church Friday June 24, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The funeral will be held Saturday June 25, 2016 starting at 11:00 a.m. followed by fellowship.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations to Kingwood United Methodist Church Bereavement Committee or Houston Hospice.
