Clara Louise Novark

1944 - 2021

Clara Louise Novark was born September 14, 1944 to Mary and Tony Piecynski. She went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 16, 2021. Clara graduated as Valedictorian from New Waverly High School in 1963. She married Lawrence Novark, Jr. in 1965. Clara worked for over 45 years for The Texas Department of Family and Protective Services in Walker and Montgomery counties where she met many dear friends. She retired in 2013. Clara dearly loved cooking Sunday lunches for her family and canning vegetables from the family garden. Clara was well known for her pickles and pickled okra that everyone loved. Clara loved her trips to the casino, playing bingo with her daughters, and scratching lottery tickets with her son-in-law, Tim Szymczak. She also loved taking golf cart rides in the pasture to check on her cows on the family farm. More than anything, Clara loved spending every Sunday surrounded by her family where she always cooked a huge meal. Her pride and joy were her two granddaughters, Leslie and Rene', and her precious great granddaughter, Jayden Lynn.

Clara is preceded in death by her parents, Tony and Mary Piecynski, husband, Lawrence Novark, Jr., and her brother, Thomas Raymond Piecynski.

Clara is survived by her daughter Elizabeth (Beth) Adamik and husband, Tim, daughter Debbie Szymczak and husband, Tim, granddaughter Leslie Adamik-Lyons and wife Caitlyn Adamik-Lyons, granddaughter Sara Rene' Dolley and husband Jeremy Dolley, and great granddaughter Jayden Lynn Dolley. Clara is also survived by many special family friends and close neighbors.

Serving as pallbearers are: Michael Yargo, Frank Viniarksi,Jr., Darrell Novark, Pat Szymczak, Steve Gehovak, and Adam Hogle. Honorary Pallbearers are: Bill Harrison and George Ripkoski

Visitation with the family is scheduled for Tuesday, February 23, from 5-7 PM at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home in Willis, with the Rosary beginning at 7 PM. Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, February 24, at 11 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church in New Waverly with burial following at Elmina Cemetery.
