Edgar E. Rogers Jr.

1928 - 2021

Edgar E. Rogers, Jr. 92 of Deer Park, Texas passed away on Tuesday, March 23, 2021. He was born December 30, 1928 in Ola, Texas to Alma G. Lemons and Edgar E. Rogers, Sr. He served in the United States Navy in Radio Operations from March 17, 1947 until February 9, 1952. He graduated from Kemp, High School in 1951 and moved to Deer Park in 1961. He met Thelma Lorene Dalrymple and they were married on May 2, 1952. He was a practical man of simple tastes and strong moral character. He was known to be kind, patient, and accepting of others. He worked for Shell Oil until he retired and was a union member. He is survived by his daughter, Sherrie Jackson; grandchildren, Nick Jackson and wife, Veronika; granddaughter, Christa Jackson and great-grandson, Joseph Zuniga III along with numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Lorene Rogers, and his four brothers and three sisters. Visitation will be held Monday evening March 29, 2021 at Grand View Funeral Home from 5:00pm until 8:00pm with funeral services being held 2:00pm Tuesday, March 30, 2021 also at Grand View Funeral Home. Burial will follow with Military Funeral Honors.
