Guadalupe Coronado Obituary

Guadalupe Coronado, 86, of Huffman, Texas, passed away on August 7, 2024, after fighting cancer and kidney disease.

Guadalupe Coronado was born on June 15, 1938, in Uvalde, Texas. He grew up in Uvalde and completed high school, then joined the Air Force. This allowed him to continue his education in aircraft maintenance, which then became his career for 35 years.

Guadalupe Coronado married Anne Sherrington Wright on September 15, 1967. They shared 57 years together. He is survived by Anne; and his five children, Kenneth, Rosalind, Robert, Rene and Elizabeth; and grandchildren, Adam and Sheridan. He is also survived by his sister, Feliz Becerra, and her family, of Brownsville, Texas.

Guadalupe was known for his love for travel and hiking in various places in the world, such as base camp on Mt. Everest, Mt. Washington, Mt. Leblanc and hiking the Camino Trail in Spain. Joe also loved working in the garage and yard. Engineering things that were broken and making them a work again was a love of his. He was an aircraft mechanic for Trans- Texas Airways, which is now part of United Airlines history. He worked for United 35 years before retiring. He will be missed by the community for the hours he worked for the Humble and Huffman Optimist Club and the Knights of Columbus. As a grandfather, he loved fishing with his grandson and supporting his grandson's endeavors with marching band and boy scouts.

Guadalupe will be deeply missed by all those who knew him, and his memory will live on in the hearts of his loved ones.
