Joan passed with her daughter Alice by her side, into the open arms of her loving and devoted daughter Dorothy Bird, who precedes her in death. Throughout her illness, she had two requests, not to forget where she was and not to let her die alone. Both were easily fulfilled. It was her love and devotion to us and ours to her through good times and bad, stronger together that kept us bound as a family should, led by example. The fear, pain, and the unknown hatreds that tormented her to the end, are now gone. Rest in peace with Dorothy, Mom, till we meet again. Left to continue to cherish her memory, loving her, and remembering her always is her daughter Alice, son-in-law Tom, grandsons William and Thomas, daughter Evemaria Manion, and son-in-law Charles.

My deepest sympathy goes out to the family of Joan. Although the sorrow runs too deep for words. May you find comfort and peace in knowing that God cares and will remember your loved one that has fallen asleep in death.

May this woman smile down on her many other children, grands, and great-grands, not mentioned here. I didn't know her personally, but through my knowledge of her daughter and grand-daughter, she must have had much love. I pray she rest well in Heaven.

My heartfelt sympathies go out to the family and friends during this difficult time. I hope that the promise in 1 Thessalonians 4:14 can bring comfort. Knowing that there's a hope for the ones we have lost in death can be so reassuring.
