Joseph Walter Gomes, 87, of Kingwood, TX, passed away on January 6, 2018. Born in Middleborough, MA, he was one of six children of the late Joseph and Ruth Gomes of Middleborough, MA. Joe, predeceased by his loving wife of over 60 years, Concetta (Connie) A. Gomes, leaves behind his sons Joseph, James, and John. He also leaves behind his daughter-in-law Valerie Gomes, Jacqueline Crowder, and beloved grandchildren, Mackenzie and husband Steve Boiteau, Marissa Gomes, and John Gomes, all of whom will miss him very much. He is survived by his sister, Joanne Coelho, brother, Fredrick Gomes, and sister-in-law, Christine Arre Savio, as well as many nieces and nephews. Joe is predeceased by his brothers, Ronald Gomes and Edward Gomes, as well as his sister, Ruth Wilbur. Joe served in the U.S. Army and had a successful 45-year career with Turner Construction Company. He loved his family and enjoyed watching his children & grandchildren grow. Joe leaves behind his cherished four-legged buddy, Hootie. A passion of Joe's was golfing with those dear to him - especially at Kingwood Country Club. His quick wit and good humor touched so many.
