Harlan, Joyce Ann (76) Loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away peacefully at Memorial Hermann Hospital in The Woodlands, Texas on August 15, 2017 due to complications from surgery. Born in Richmond, Indiana on February 15, 1941; daughter of the late Joseph and Katherine McConkey; Joyce married her sweetheart Scottie Marvin Harlan on May 29, 1964. The couple settled in Huffman, Texas and later moved to Humble, Texas. Throughout her life she pursued many interests and enjoyed writing beautiful poetry. She was a licensed hair dresser, worked for the US Postal Service delivering mail, was a licensed real estate agent, owned/operated a newspaper - "Real Estate Bargain Sheet", and owned/ operated a resale shop in Humble, Texas, - "The Classy Lassie". When she was in her early 50's she went back to school where she became a Licensed Vocational Nurse. She had since retired from nursing and enjoyed sewing and being surrounded by family.
She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years Scottie Marvin Harlan; children, Amanda (Gary) Leonard, Derick Harlan, Rebecca (Eric) Bailey; 4 grandchildren, Clayton Leonard, Jenni (Johnny) Palomo, Travis Leonard, Ava Bailey; and 2 great grandchildren, Kristiana Palomo and Cameron Palomo.
