Lucille Whitmire, age 88 of Cleveland, Texas, passed away Thursday, March 26, 2015. She was born September 10, 1926 in Macedonia, Texas to parents Thomas Vandver and Effie Davis Vandver who preceded her in death along with her husband of 62 years, Lubie Whitmire; sisters, Ruby Craig and Flora Simmons; and brothers, James Vandver, Leroy Vandver, and Thomas Vandver.
Survivors include her sons, James Whitmire and Michael Whitmire; daughter, Diana Johnston; grandchildren, Jim Bob Whitmire and Sheila, Keith Whitmire and wife Geri, and Rona Leal and husband Miguel; great-grandchildren, Tanner Whitmire, Taylor Whitmire, Tyler Whitmire, Devin Leal and Kain Leal; numerous other cherished family members and treasured friends throughout the years.
Brother Carl Williamson presided over funeral services held 2:00 p.m., Sunday, March 29, 2015 at Pace Stancil Chapel, Cleveland, Texas. Interment followed at Wells Cemetery, Cleveland, Texas.
