Margaret Hatton Farris, 89, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on March 12, 2016. She was born in Coffeeville, Alabama on January 6, 1927 to George Clayton and Mabel Hatton. Her family moved to Beaumont when she was very young. She graduated from Beaumont High in 1944. Margaret eventually went to work for Stewart Title where she met the love of her life, Burke Farris. They had many adventures together living in Liberty, Texas; Houston, Galveston, and Honolulu Hawaii. She moved to Kingwood in 1998 to be near her daughter and family.
Margaret's favorite activities included collecting seashells and taking care of various pets and stray animals. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, daughter Amanda, her brother Gerald Hatton and her sister Lucy Barthell. She is survived by her son Kirk Farris and wife Dottie of Houston; her daughter Ramona Reid and husband Doug of Kingwood, and three grandchildren, Clayton Farris, Bethany Reid and Kristen Reid and many nieces and nephews.
Margaret was an incredibly loving mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. She will be dearly missed by her family, friends and animals. A private memorial will be held at a future date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Shiners' Hospital or Lamb of God Lutheran Church of Humble in her honor.
